About Bldr.ing

The Project

bldr.ing is a non-profit project, managed by volunteers.

Our goal is to make discovering bouldering in North Yorkshire fun and accessible to everyone, whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber.

The team

  • Dave

Dave manages the code that runs bldr.ing, forked from Boolder. He loves climbing and coding, and he wanted to create a platform that would make bouldering more accessible to everyone.
  • Huw

  • Will

Will manages unknownstones and has worked on various guidebooks to climbing in the North of England. He has been climbing in North Yorkshire for over 10 years and is passionate about sharing the best bouldering spots with others.

The story

This website was inspired by the fantastic www.boolder.com, an interactive guide to bouldering in Fontainebleau, France. After a couple of trips using the app to find our way around Font, we wanted to create a similar app for Yorkshire, where we live and climb.
